Toronto, October 10, 2025 – In a powerful display of cultural pride and spiritual devotion, the Bengali community of Toronto witnessed a historic milestone on October 1, as the Toronto Durgabari organized the first-ever Durga Bisarjan (Pratima immersion) in Lake Ontario. Held at Woodbine Beach, this event marked the first time that the traditional conclusion of Durga Puja, the farewell immersion of Goddess Durga, was performed in Canada in accordance with all traditional rituals.
