HCF’s 3rd Annual Shri Ram Rath Yatra Inspires Devotion Across Canada - Celebrating Faith, Unity, and History

The Hindu Canadian Foundation (HCF) proudly celebrated a powerful milestone this year with the 3rd Annual Shri Ram Rath Yatra 2026, a spiritual journey dedicated to celebrating the historic restoration of the Shri Ram Mandir in Ayodhya. For Hindus across the world — and for more than 1.4 million Hindu Canadians, this moment represents centuries of resilience, devotion, and hope finally fulfilled.

Since the Mandir’s consecration on January 22, 2024, HCF has embraced a solemn responsibility: to ensure that this sacred day is remembered by present and future generations as a symbol of justice, cultural pride, and spiritual awakening. The annual Rath Yatra is our way of bringing this historic celebration to Canadian soil, uniting temples, families, and communities in devotion to Shri Ram.

This year’s Yatra was our most vibrant and a full day of bhajans, blessings, and heartfelt welcomes across multiple cities and temples.

Journey of Devotion Across Mandirs, A Powerful Start at Hindu Sabha Mandir, Brampton (9225 The Gore Rd, Brampton, ON L6P 0B6)

The Yatra began at Hindu Sabha Mandir, where hundreds of devotees gathered in the early hours during extreme weather conditions (wind chill of –12°C & wind 60 km/h), chanting “Jai Shri Ram” with unshakable energy. The temple management and Shri Madhu Lama extended warm hospitality, offering Prasad and breakfast to all. The atmosphere was filled with devotion as bhajans, Hanuman Chalisa, and Aarti set the tone for the sacred journey ahead. Shri Madhu ji Flagged off Rath Yatra by waving "Hindu Bhagwa Flag" to Triveni Mandir in Brampton.

Triveni Mandir Brampton: A Community United in Bhakti (20 Daviselm Drive, Brampton, ON L6X 0E6)

Our next stop, Triveni Mandir, welcomed the Yatra with open arms. Shri YudhishthirJi & Temple priest led a soulful Bhajan Sandhya and Hanuman Chalisa, drawing devotees from the surrounding neighbourhood. The temple resonated with spiritual warmth as families joined in singing and prayer, a very mesmerizing Bhakti Environment was created for Shri Ram Rath Yatra, all devottess has much needed snacks break to get recharged.

Canadian Sanatan Mission Mandir: Youth Leading the Way (1635 Sismet Rd Unit 6 & 7, Mississauga, ON L4W 1W5)

At the newly established Canadian Sanatan Mission Mandir in Mississauga, the Yatra was greeted with heartfelt enthusiasm. What made this stop truly special was the lineup of young singers , all under 20 who performed bhajans and Hanuman Chalisa with remarkable devotion. Their voices filled the temple with purity and hope, reminding us that the future of our faith is bright and deeply rooted.

Hamilton Hindu Samaj Temple: A Grand and Joyful Welcome (6297 Twenty Rd E, Hannon, ON L0R 1P0)

The Yatra then travelled to Hamilton Hindu Samaj Temple, where a beautifully organized welcome awaited. A powerful Bhajan Sandhya and Dhol Swagtam led by President Uma Sharma ji, Saurav Sharma, Samir Mahajan and Karthic Ji, uplifted the entire gathering. The temple committee ensured devotees were cared for with refreshments and warm hospitality, making this stop a memorable highlight.

Yugal Kunj Temple, Hamilton: A Divine Conclusion (375 Aberdeen Ave, Hamilton, ON L8P 2R7)

The final destination was the newly built Suyog Coast Temple in downtown Hamilton. Devotees were welcomed with rose petals, floral offerings, and melodious harmonium-led kirtans. The concluding bhajan session was filled with energy, devotion, and gratitude. A full meal was lovingly served by the temple team, bringing the day to a beautiful close.

The Yatra symbolizes the resilience of Hindus worldwide, and the HCF seeks to educate Hindu Canadians. For HCF, the Shri Ram Rath Yatra is more than an event, it is a commitment with purpose.

A commitment to ensure that January 22 is remembered not just as a date, but as a symbol of resilience, hope, and justice. A commitment to honour the centuries-long struggle that led to the Mandir’s restoration. A commitment to unite Hindu Canadians in celebration of our shared heritage.

Each temple, each volunteer, each devotee who joined us helped transform this Yatra into a living expression of community strength and spiritual pride.

Gratitude and the Path Ahead

We extend our heartfelt thanks to all participating temples, their management teams, volunteers, and the countless devotees who made this year’s Yatra extraordinary. Your support strengthens our resolve to continue this sacred tradition year after year.

As we look ahead, HCF remains dedicated to expanding this celebration, deepening community connections, and ensuring that the legacy of Shri Ram Mandir continues to inspire generations across Canada.
