Hindu Canadian Foundation and Vishwa Jain Sanghthan, Canada, Collaborate with Durham Region to Build and Launch New Hate‑Reporting Tool

Hindu Canadian Foundation (HCF) and @JainCanadian  have spent the past year working closely with the @RegionofDurham  to develop and implement a comprehensive hate‑reporting tool designed for all communities, with a dedicated focus on the needs and lived experiences of Hindu Canadians. We are pleased to inform Hindu Canadians across the country, especially those in the Durham Region, that the tool is now officially live. HCF’s priority throughout this process was ensuring the platform remains facially neutral, accessible, and effective for every community, so that all residents feel empowered to report hate incidents without hesitation.

HCF was honored to attend the media launch on January 29, 2026. We encourage everyone to listen to the remarks from Durham Regional Chair & CEO John Henry and insights from Anu Sharma of Diversity HQ, both of whom are addressing the Hindu Canadian community in Durham.

We urge municipalities across Canada to ensure that all relevant stakeholders, especially those directly impacted, are included in the development of such critical community‑safety initiatives. HCF has qualified individuals, technological capacity, and a deep understanding of the challenges faced by Hindu Canadians. We are here to support, collaborate, and strengthen community resilience. We also call upon organizations and institutions to partner with us and leverage our resources as we work together to build safer, more empowered communities for all.
