January 22 has been recognized as Ayodhya Ram Mandir Day in Canada, honouring the historic restoration of the sacred Shri Ram Mandir in Ayodhya.

A Day Etched in History: January 22 has been formally recognized as Ayodhya Ram Mandir Day, a date that now holds profound spiritual and cultural significance for Hindus around the world. This day commemorates the historic restoration of the sacred Shri Ram Mandir in Ayodhya, a moment awaited for centuries and cherished across generations.

Canadian Municipal Recognition: In 2024, both the Town of Oakville and the City of Brampton issued official proclamations acknowledging the importance of this day. Their recognition reflects the growing visibility and contributions of the Hindu community in Canada, and it honours a milestone that resonates deeply with Hindus locally and globally.

For billions of devotees, including the vibrant Hindu community across Canada, the restoration of the Ram Mandir represents the revival of the holiest site of our tradition, a site that was lost centuries ago and has now been restored with dignity and devotion.

A Symbol of Unity, Peace, and Justice: The Ram Mandir today stands as far more than a temple. It is a universal symbol of unity, peace, and justice. It reflects the resilience of a community that has endured generations of hardship, discrimination, and cultural erasure. Despite these challenges, many of which continue in various forms even today, the spirit of the Hindu community has remained unbroken.

The revival of the Mandir is not only a spiritual triumph; it is a reaffirmation of cultural dignity, civilizational continuity, and collective hope.

Community Celebrations in Canada

Adding to this moment of pride, the Hindu Canadian Foundation received a warm congratulatory message from the Mayor of Milton, extending heartfelt wishes to the entire Milton Hindu community on Ayodhya Day. This gesture reflects the growing recognition of Hindu heritage within Canadian civic spaces and strengthens the bond between local government and the community. We encourage everyone, to share these wishes widely. This is a time for celebration, unity, and collective joy.

A Moment to Cherish

As communities across Canada and around the world come together to celebrate, one message echoes everywhere: Jai Shri Ram…!!
